If you plan to participate in RoboCup Malaysia Open 2024, we already answer some questions you might have.

MAJOR LEAGUES
How can I participate?
You can register through this link REGISTRATION. Dont forget, you need to arrange your travel and stay in Malaysia if you are from overseas.
Where can I find the rules of my league?
Each league manages of their own rules. Check out at our Challenges and Rules pages.
How much is the registration fee?
The registration fee is determined by the RoboCup Malaysia, the registration fee is depending on the moment you register. You can find the registration fees at REGISTRATION.
What should a new team do when they want to participate?
In general, new teams need to register through this website. New teams (teams in which every team member has never attended RoboCup before), are eligible for a team fee waiver. Registration cost of (additional) team members is not waived.
What are the access hours of the venue?
The opening hours of the venue for participants will be from 9 am to 5 pm. Team Registration and Team Setup day is on the Thursday, September 5th.
JUNIOR LEAGUES
Where can I find the rules?

Note that rules may be different at local/qualification competitions.
How can I participate?
In order to participate in RoboCup Junior Leagues for Malaysia Open 2024, you need to register through this link REGISTRATION. Dont forget, you need to arrange your travel and stay in Malaysia if you are from overseas.
How much is the registration fee?
The registration fee is determined by the RoboCup Malaysia, the registration fee is depending on the moment you register. You can find the registration fees at REGISTRATION.
When do I need to register?
Registrations are open now. We encourage you register as soon as possible.
How many members can be in one team?
Minimum 1 Mentor and 2 Student per team.
Maximum team members (Mentor + Student) limit is 6.
Mentor can have multiple team registrations (with multiple registration fees).
Student can only register in one team in all Junior Leagues.

How old can participants be?
There is no minimum age, but the maximum age is 19. This is counted on July 1st, 2024.
Of course, mentors and parents may be older.

How do I get there?
Participants attending the RoboCup Malaysia Open 2024 have multiple transportation options to access the venue, ensuring convenient and efficient travel from various locations:
By Car:
Driving Directions: Universiti Malaya is easily accessible via major highways and roads in Kuala Lumpur. Participants can use GPS navigation systems by entering "Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur" as the destination.
Parking Facilities: There are several parking lots available within the university campus. Participants are advised to arrive early to secure parking spots. Designated parking areas will be marked, and shuttle services may be available from remote parking lots to the event venues.
By Airplane:
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA): The nearest major airport is KLIA, located approximately 55 kilometers south of Universiti Malaya.
Airport Transfers: Participants can use various transportation services from KLIA, including taxis, ride-sharing services, and airport shuttles. A direct taxi or ride-share from the airport to Universiti Malaya takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.
Public Transportation from KLIA:
KLIA Ekspres: A high-speed train service that connects KLIA to KL Sentral station in Kuala Lumpur in about 28 minutes.
From KL Sentral: Participants can then take a taxi, ride-share, or the Light Rail Transit (LRT) to Universiti Malaya.
By Train:
KTM Komuter: Participants can take the KTM Komuter train service to the Mid Valley station, which is close to Universiti Malaya. From there, taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available for a short ride to the campus.
LRT (Light Rail Transit):
Kelana Jaya Line: The nearest LRT station to Universiti Malaya is the Universiti station on the Kelana Jaya line. Participants can then take a short taxi or ride-share service to the venue.
Accessibility: The LRT provides an efficient and economical way to travel within Kuala Lumpur, with frequent services and connections to various parts of the city.

Can I visit Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia after/before the event?
If you're allowed to stay on the conditions of your visa, absolutely!
There is a lot to do and see in Kuala Lumpur, from the towering Petronas Twin Towers to the historic temples and delicious street food, it is a must-visit destination for any traveller. Because Malaysia is a small country, you can also very easily visit most other places using public transport. There is a lot to see!
Of course, you can also visit any other nearby states during your stay.
How can I pay in Malaysia?
In Malaysia, there are several ways to make payments, catering to both traditional and modern preferences. Here are some common methods:
