PARTICIPANT FAQ

If you plan to participate in RoboCup Malaysia Open 2024, we already answer some questions you might have.

MAJOR LEAGUES

How can I participate?

You can register through this link REGISTRATION.  Dont forget, you need to arrange your travel and stay in Malaysia if you are from overseas. 

Where can I find the rules of my league?

Each league manages of their own rules. Check out at our Challenges and Rules pages.

How much is the registration fee?

The registration fee is determined by the RoboCup Malaysia, the registration fee is depending on the moment you register. You can find the registration fees at REGISTRATION.

What should a new team do when they want to participate?

In general, new teams need to register through this website. New teams (teams in which every team member has never attended RoboCup before), are eligible for a team fee waiver. Registration cost of (additional) team members is not waived.

What are the access hours of the venue?

The opening hours of the venue for participants will be from 9 am to 5 pm. Team Registration and Team Setup day is on the Thursday, September 5th.

JUNIOR LEAGUES

Where can I find the rules?

Check the website for the details: https://junior.robocup.org/. or Here. If you have questions about the rules, contact the Technical Committee.

Note that rules may be different at local/qualification competitions. 

How can I participate?

In order to participate in RoboCup Junior Leagues for Malaysia Open 2024, you need to register through this link REGISTRATION. Dont forget, you need to arrange your travel and stay in Malaysia if you are from overseas. 

How much is the registration fee?

The registration fee is determined by the RoboCup Malaysia, the registration fee is depending on the moment you register. You can find the registration fees at REGISTRATION.

When do I need to register?

Registrations are open now. We encourage you register as soon as possible.

How many members can be in one team?

How old can participants be?

There is no minimum age, but the maximum age is 19. This is counted on July 1st, 2024.

Of course, mentors and parents may be older.

Where is the venue?

The venue is at Universiti Malaysia, in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. The address is Dewan Peperiksaan UM, 50603 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.

The RoboCup Malaysia Open 2024 organisers can provide invitation letters after registration.

Can I visit Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia after/before the event?

If you're allowed to stay on the conditions of your visa, absolutely!

There is a lot to do and see in Kuala Lumpur, from the towering Petronas Twin Towers to the historic temples and delicious street food, it is a must-visit destination for any traveller. Because Malaysia is a small country, you can also very easily visit most other places using public transport. There is a lot to see!

Of course, you can also visit any other nearby states during your stay.
